On your first visit to the office, which will be roughly 1 hour, the doctor will study your health history and determine if a structural shift has occurred. If a structural shift is found, specialized x-rays of the upper cervical region will be taken. These precious x-rays are needed to accurately view the of the neck, atlas (C1), and skull. Why are X-rays needed to determine whether or not I have a structural shift? The whole body structural shift can be determined without X-rays, but the root cause is neuro-structural comprise between the neck, atlas, and skull. Our correction is gentle and precise. This is achieved because to see is to know, and not to see is to guess.
We refuse to guess about your health. Special calculations and reading of the x-rays will definitively show how the neuro-structural comprise can be corrected to restore balance. NUCCA adjustments are very gentle and are delivered without cracking or popping. The first correction will be administered on the 2nd visit after your individual structural shift has been calculated. Most of the time, patients do not feel anything but a gentle pressure behind the ear. The doctor will then take another set of x-rays called “post” x-rays to show the reduction in the structural shift.
The goal of the NUCCA alignment is to reduce the postural distortion to reduce symptoms and restore function. A person may feel varied degrees of changes in symptoms immediately after the first alignment associated with a new structural position. All responses to the correction are unique to the individual.
Our long term goal is to achieve spinal balance by holding your correct alignment for extended lengthens of time which leads to a optimized life, without pain, discomfort, or medications. Usually, most people come once a month or six weeks to get checked and ensure they are maintaining their alignment. Therefore, the treatment plan varies depending on your body and lifestyle.
During the process, there may be pain management and other obstacles that need to be eliminated. We utilize muscle work and nutritional counseling to aid in the rehabilitation process. Let us know what we can do to help you.
